RADISYS SOLUTION BRIEF | Radisys M-CORD: The Open Platform for Emerging 5G Applications 5 www.radisys.com M-CORD USE CASES M-CORD with its disaggregated hardware and so ware approach, along with mobility so ware innovation from key M-CORD development vendors such as Radisys, allows for some very interesting use cases that were not feasible with traditional end-to-end physical networks. One such use case is Radisys' development of an interesting concept of Connectionless Gateway. This is a so ware network function that reduces the traditional LTE control signaling for IoT devices and thereby reduces the cost of transport of critical bits over the air interface as well as over the traditional core network infrastructure, resulting in significantly higher ROI for low speed and low ARPU IOT device traffic. M-CORD also offers the ability to decompose another core network element, the MME, into separate functional entities to suit different use cases and slices that have been demonstrated and are now being used as pre-5G use case.
