The FlowEngine TDE-2000 is designed to operate in both data center and telecommunications environments that demand high network throughput, scalability and guaranteed performance in a small form factor. Flow Engine TDE-2000 features 2.0 Tbps L2-L3 and 600 Gbps of bidirectional flow-based intelligent load balancing with additional capacity for L4-L5 subscriber and user services. Distribute Millions of Data Sessions into Thousands of VNFs The ongoing explosion of Internet traffic driven by video, mobile devices and the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to millions of data flows traversing packet networks. Service providers of all types are keen to understand, manage and monetize these broadband data flows by deploying thousands of Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs). The FlowEngine TDE-2000 processes large volumes of data traffic in real-time as a front-end to these VNF resources, distributing traffic session flows to only the VNF resources that are needed to satisfy a specific service function for a subscriber's specific service request. High-performance Data Plane Processing With increasing virtualization of data plane applications, service providers are faced with the compromise of choosing between limited packet processing rules of Top of Rack (ToR) switches, or incurring higher costs to deploy load balancing and security products that cannot handle high data plane traffic volumes with limited SDN control capabilities. The FlowEngine TDE-2000 delivers an improved approach by integrating a key subset of data plane features related to data center leaf/spine, security and GiLAN while incorporating SDN control, traffic steering and service function chaining. The FlowEngine TDE-2000 high density L2-L5 networking offloads complex data plane Layer 2 to 5 processing from VNFs, making NFV deployments much more resource efficient. Advanced Load Balancing and Service Chaining Intelligent load balancing allows real-time policies to be introduced using SDN control APIs and is fundamental to many applications such as video optimization, security, parental control, traffic shaping, data analytics and service assurance in mobile core networks. The FlowEngine TDE- 2000 supports flexible stateless and stateful load balancing capabilities that can be combined with packet forwarding for service chaining. Very large policy tables can be supported and managed using REST and SDN-controlled APIs to provide high-performance network scale and management. Versatile Traffic Distribution for many use cases Key service provider and data center use cases include traffic steering, traffic shaping and security to dedicated network resource platforms. Example of network resource platforms include video optimization and content caching, service function chaining across a pool of VNFs, IMS network data plane load balancing, and SDN-controlled traffic distribution and load balancing in packet optical networks.
