3 RADISYS SOLUTION BRIEF | Radisys Engage Media Server Product Overview www.radisys.com The Radisys solution offers rich OpenStack/ETSI-NFV compatibility and is designed for rapid deployment using an Open Virtualization Format (OVF) package. It supports the latest ONAP initiative, along with compatibility with the latest Nokia Cloudband and HP OpenNFV VNF management; VMware, RedHat, KVM and OpenStack hypervisors, and the Amazon EC2 platform. Additionally, its support for the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) allows for integration with additional standards-based NFV management environments. The Radisys Media Server architecture is also built to take advantage of additional hardware resources, including DSPs and GPUs, available on off-the-shelf server configurations while still operating as a Virtual Network Function (VNF), retaining full cloud management features and workload elasticity - thereby reducing the footprint of media server and transcoding required for hyper-scale cloud deployments. When deployed in a virtualized environment, Radisys Media Server VNF delivers performance and capacity at par with bare metal deployments. The Media Server can be deployed as an integrated Media Server or as a decomposed Media Server with Engage Media Server- Controller and Engage Media Server-Processor components (in the IMS domain, the MRF-C and MRF-P). Rich Applications — Maximizes Revenue, Network Utilization and User Retention Radisys Media Server VNF provides a holistic media processing platform for all real-time and non-real time media processing services and applications. Scalable HD Voice & Video Communication Services Radisys' Media Server delivers the desired OpEX/CapEx savings while providing the software-based media processing and transcoding that are required for scaling real time communications and streaming media applications in the cloud. It seamlessly supports VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi, VoIP and audio/video conferencing, super high definition codecs such EVS coupled with high-performance transcoding, bridging the gaps between fixed-line, mobile, and Over the Top (OTT) communication service providers and services. Standard APIs enable rapid time to market for new services, and an upgrade path for existing services using legacy media processing platforms that weren't built with enhanced features like video and media analytics in mind. Deep Media Analytics & Reporting for "On-Demand" Media Optimizations In addition to processing HD video and HD audio to enable rich media services, the Radisys Media Server adds another dimension to media in communications services: Analytics and Reporting. With its high performing NFV acceleration capabilities, the Radisys Media Server supports processing of large volume Proven Demonstration with ONAP and MEC Radisys and Orange have jointly demonstrated that ONAP is ready to easily onboard commercial VNFs, paving a path to live deployments for network transformation. As a major ONAP virtual function integrator and VNF provider, Radisys is enabling the ONAP community to deploy open infrastructures based on SDN/NFV that are more cost-effective and scalable, while delivering a blueprint for virtualized real-time voice and video services over Web/4G/LTE networks and advanced media optimizations at the edge using Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) platforms.
