TDE-500 deployed by a tier 1 U.S. mobile network operator to accelerate revenue-generating services

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, SPAIN, February 23, 2016Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration company, today announced the addition of the TDE-200 and TDE-500 traffic distribution platforms to the company’s FlowEngine™ product portfolio. These new platforms, along with the previously announced TDE-1000, run Radisys’ FlowEngine software, the innovative solution that brings together switching, load balancing and routing functionality under open SDN policy control.

As the portfolio’s entry level platform, the TDE-200 is targeted as a cost-effective, intelligent front end traffic distributor that regulates traffic flows with very high throughput and low latency. The TDE-500 platform offers maximum SDN and NFV deployment flexibility for either distributed edge sites or core data center networks. It also provides the option to fuse together on-board SDN controller technology and value-added virtualized network services like network analytics. Radisys’ FlowEngine portfolio leap-frogs the competition by delivering up to 1.2 Tbps of traffic distribution performance at a fraction of the cost of comparable solutions. Service providers can leverage FlowEngine to roll out new services at scale supporting millions of concurrent subscribers and flows.

“Pioneering service providers want to take advantage of the economies of scale and the agility of the cloud, thereby accelerating their ability to create and deploy new services,” said Lee Doyle, principal analyst, Doyle Research. “Radisys’ FlowEngine is designed to address these challenges, with the delivery of a programmable, high performance platform that allows service providers to deploy SDN and NFV with agility, flexibility, and scalability.”

Networking environments, whether in the data center, cloud or edge central offices suffer from a common problem –the real-time management of exploding traffic flows which is fundamental to measurement, enforcement and monetization. Radisys’ family of FlowEngine solutions overcomes these challenges by combining carrier-grade traffic aggregation with seamless integration between SDN controller and data plane elements, thus enabling programmability and network automation. The Radisys TDE platforms facilitate a flexible dev-ops model for service-driven environments with the logical separation of control and data plane services that is essential to unlock closed, monolitihic network architectures. The new TDE platforms, coupled with intelligent FlowEngine software, provide service providers with maximum flexibility and choice to address the diverse requirements in their SDN and NFV deployments.

“Radisys’ expertise in integrating software and hardware technologies to deliver the right solution to our customers is what sets us apart from the competition,” said Bryan Sadowski, vice president, FlowEngine Product Marketing, Radisys. “The addition of the TDE-500 and TDE-200 to our FlowEngine portfolio, along with our world-class Professional Services capabilities, provides our customers with a robust SDN-enabled platform combined with unmatched industry expertise to accelerate their SDN and NFV deployments.”
