Unified SDN platform allows communication service providers to enable on-demand network services with carrier scale and performance

  • Joint solution integrates Sanctum Networks’ Jupiter commercial SDN controller with Radisys’ FlowEngine™ Intelligent Traffic Distribution System to deliver a programmable network services platform
  • Communication service providers (CSPs) can leverage the SDN platform to rapidly deliver rich network service offerings in real-time while reducing costs and complexity
  • End subscribers can experience instant activation of services such as voice, video on-demand and high-speed data from their CSPs, within minutes instead of weeks
  • Radisys and Sanctum Networks will demonstrate the innovative network service platform at the SDN and OpenFlow World Congress, October 12-16 in Dusseldorf

HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. and DUBLIN – October 12, 2015Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration company, and Sanctum Networks Ltd, a leading provider of SDN product solutions, today announced a partnership to deliver a carrier-class SDN-enabled network services platform to communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide. The joint solution integrates Sanctum Networks’ Jupiter SDN Controller with Radisys’ FlowEngine Intelligent Traffic Distribution System, delivering to CSPs the ability to rapidly identify, provision and create network service offerings with real-time network visibility. CSPs can leverage the integrated solution to redefine and improve the subscriber experience, including guarantee of higher service levels and providing more refined service offerings.

The continuing evolution of cloud, mobility and the Internet of Things (IoT) brings significant challenges for CSPs in delivering on-demand services while effectively managing network elements. The SDN-enabled network services platform from Radisys and Sanctum Networks overcomes this resource inefficiency dilemma by combining carrier-grade traffic aggregation with service automation and real-time analytics for the data center core and edge environments. Together, both companies are leveraging their experience in delivering flexible programmability on control and data plane systems with seamless orchestration, enabling CSPs to scale and manage new services rapidly on demand, while improving service provisioning agility and cost savings.

“We’re pleased to partner with Radisys, the experts in integrated carrier-grade hardware and software for SDN deployments, to deliver an industry-first solution that revolutionizes Internet service models across data center and carrier core infrastructure,” said Nazneen Shaikh, vice president of product management, Sanctum Networks. “Communications service providers need a solution that removes the complexity of cloud service delivery in real-world deployments. Our combined solution offering, based on open standard OpenFlow protocol, offers a comprehensive approach to carrier SDN services in a cost-effective, unified system that delivers flexible programmability for both the control and data plane. CSPs can improve service visibility into their network, while ensuring carrier-grade reliability, scale and performance.”

FlowEngine is our flagship technology for CSPs seeking to enable carrier-class SDN and NFV in their networks. Our solutions focus on delivering highly scalable and programmable data plane processing capabilities with flexible SDN control interfaces,” said Joseph Sulistyo, director of product management and strategy, Radisys. “Sanctum Networks has developed an innovative and nimble SDN controller with a well-designed user interface and dynamic network programming model. The combination of Sanctum’s intelligent SDN orchestrator and FlowEngine’s powerful data plane processing capabilities allows CSPs to provision the network and optimize service delivery in real-time as demands change, with unified integration across data, control and cloud management systems.”
