HILLSBORO, OR — March 15 , 2011— Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, announced the appointment of David Nierenberg to its Board of Directors, effective March 16, 2011. Mr. Nierenberg has extensive experience in corporate strategy, corporate governance, management consulting and venture capital and public company investing. Mr. Nierenberg is the President of Nierenberg Investment Management Company, which is a long-term shareholder of Radisys.

David Nierenberg is the founder and President of Nierenberg Investment Management Company, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Electro Scientific Industries along with other private companies. Previously, Mr. Nierenberg was with venture capital firms Trinity Ventures and G.E. Venture Capital. He started his career in management consulting with Bain & Company, eventually becoming a partner. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Yale University.
