OneMRF solution allows communications service providers to leverage one platform for all of their media rich real-time applications and services

HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. – October 5, 2016Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration company, today announced that its Media Server OneMRF solution is the 5G & LTE Asia Award winner for Best VoLTE or LTE Broadcast Product or Service. The 5G and LTE Asia awards were independently judged by an expert panel of impartial industry analysts, and awarded during the 5G Asia Conference, September 26-28 in Singapore.

“We are honored to be the recipient of this prestigious award which recognized our leadership in VoLTE and IP media processing,” said Grant Henderson, vice president, Corporate Marketing and Media Server, Radisys. “Our Media Server products are deployed in a large number of VoLTE networks globally, including the world’s largest greenfield VoLTE network in Asia. In addition, this award shines a spotlight on the work we do in Asia and is a testament to the more than 500 Radisys engineers in Bangalore, India and Shenzhen, China that are critical to our success.”

Radisys’ OneMRF consists of a portfolio of hardware and virtualized Media Resource Function (MRF) solutions that have been designed to lower the cost and accelerate the delivery of communication services, while delivering the scalability and proven reliability required for large scale network deployments.

Historically, as service providers rolled out new services such as VoLTE, they also incurred the cost of incremental media processing resources that are added to the network specifically for a new service. Over time, this results in an expensive, disparate set of media processing resources deployed as dedicated silos from multiple vendors with different capabilities, control interfaces and platforms. Radisys’ OneMRF has been engineered from the outset to help communications service providers simplify their network architecture and provide a common, versatile media processing platform for a broad range of services, control interfaces and applications. By leveraging OneMRF, communications service providers can reduce CapEx and OpEx costs by up to 50 percent.

In addition, OneMRF supports the increasing number of advanced codecs in the networks that require more processing power than legacy solutions can support, such as the Enhanced Voice Services (EVS) codec and WebRTC’s VP8 and Opus codecs. Radisys’ OneMRF platform delivers dense, scalable, feature-rich support for codecs such as EVS, enabling communications service providers to deliver exceptional voice quality to more subscribers, while saving precious bandwidth and wireless spectrum.
