This report presents the results of the Heavy Reading Open RAN Operator Survey conducted in the summer of 2020 on the outlook for open radio access networks (open RANs). Heavy Reading defines "open RAN" as the ability to integrate, deploy, and operate radio access networks using components, subsystems, and software sources from multiple suppliers. The survey was open to employees of communications service providers only.

Who Disaggregated My RAN? Part 10: Open and Private at Once: Open RAN Solutions for Private Networks
As 3GPP defines it, non-public networks are for the exclusive use of a private entity deployed as a standalone network or hosted by an operator or it may be just a slice of an operator’s network.
Who Disaggregated My RAN? Part 9: Slice and Serve: Network Slicing in Action
The concept of a slice applies not just to the network, but to the user device or terminal as well. A 5G terminal can support multiple slices simultaneously.
