Next Generation InfraCo and Radisys Partner to Launch Digital Innovation Incubator in Ghana

Today, Next Generation InfraCo (NGIC), a 4G and 5G Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) operator, in partnership with Radisys and other partners, announced the launch of 5G in Ghana, redefining the nation’s connectivity. 5G  is more than just faster speeds; it is a transformative leap that will reshape industries, open new economic avenues, and redefine how people live and work. Aligned with this vision, we're thrilled to join forces with NGIC in launching the Ghana Digital Innovation Incubator, a platform designed to nurture local talent, accelerate digital startups, and foster a robust tech ecosystem. This pioneering initiative aims to drive growth to Ghana's digital economy and promote inclusive growth across society and industry. The incubator will provide software applications, developer tools and business mentorship to independent software vendors (ISVs), university students, enterprise developers and entrepreneurs, and will serve as a hub for innovation enabling Ghana’s communities to harness the full potential of 5G.

The Ghana Digital Innovation Incubator will offer local developers and startups access to advanced cloud, 5G, AI/ML and digital communications infrastructure, along with guidance in business and market development. The incubator will empower entrepreneurs, software programmers, and system architects to create applications addressing key challenges across a wide range of sectors such as education, healthcare, finance, mining, agriculture, and digital governance.

Through this partnership, NGIC and Radisys are committed to supporting Ghana’s digital transformation. The incubator is open to all interested developers focused on solving challenges facing businesses and the government, and will provide tools and resources, with selected projects receiving additional mentorship and commercialization support. This initiative will foster the creation of innovative, locally-driven impactful solutions like an educational generative AI assistant to enhance learning and a social collaboration application connecting students, teachers, faculty, parents, alumni and other stakeholders throughout the learning and post-graduation lifecycle. Some unique ideas demonstrating the power of 5G will be showcased at the NGIC 5G launch on Nov. 1, at La Palm Hotel, Accra, Ghana.

“Partnering with Radisys enables us to harness Ghana's talent in driving our digital transformation,” said Harkirit Singh, CEO, Ascend Digital and Executive Director, NGIC. “With access to cutting-edge infrastructure and mentorship, we are equipping Ghana’s innovators and entrepreneurs to realize their full potential. This incubator will address critical local challenges and create a lasting positive impact on the nation’s economy.”

“Radisys is proud to support Ghana’s digital economy by creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive,” said Arun Bhikshesvaran, Radisys CEO. “With years of experience taking ideas from concept to market, Radisys is driving innovation forward. Every year, we evaluate over 500 ideas at our codeathon, identifying high-potential innovations that stand out for their business impact, creativity, and real-world application. Our digital development environment is designed to foster innovation that can drive meaningful change. We believe this Digital Innovation Incubator initiative will unlock the possibilities opened by 5G and accelerate economic growth and foster digital inclusion, helping Ghana become a leading player in the global digital landscape.”
