Radisys’ Connect RAN 5G Small Cell Software Suite Wins TMC’s 2021 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award

Hillsboro, OR, July 22, 2021 — Radisys announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has awarded Radisys’ Connect RAN 5G Small Cell Software Suite a 2021 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

Radisys’ Connect RAN 5G Small Cell software is fueling the growth of 5G NR small cells and supporting communications service providers to add 5G coverage and capacity with faster time to market. The software is the foundation for new use cases for high-throughput applications, including immersive augmented and virtual reality and enhanced mobile broadband along with improved indoor coverage and support for deep coverage in highly urban environments. It also supports 5G private network deployments across campuses, factories, and more.

Connect RAN 5G software can be deployed in both NR mmWave Non-standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) 5G modes and supports both FDD and TDD deployments. It is compliant with 3GPP Release 16, O-RAN Alliance standards, and the Small Cell Forum’s FAPI specifications – with an evolution path to Advanced Release 16 and beyond. Radisys also provides 5G Core Network functions as defined by 3GPP.

“Radisys’ 5G Small Cell Suite is deployment-proven, flexible and platform-independent,” said Natasha Tamaskar, Vice President and Head of Business Strategy and Global Marketing, Radisys. “It provides operators and vendors with a complete toolkit to accelerate their 5G network deployment and gain a time-to-market advantage as they commercialize CBRS-based Private LTE, 4G/LTE-Advanced, or 5G services.”

“Congratulations to Radisys for being honored with a Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “Radisys’ Connect RAN 5G Small Cell Software Suite is truly a groundbreaking product and is amongst the best communications products and services available on the market today. I look forward to continued innovation from Radisys through a variety of open telecom solutions.”
