This report presents the results of the Heavy Reading Open RAN Operator Survey conducted in the summer of 2020 on the outlook for open radio access networks (open RANs). Heavy Reading defines "open RAN" as the ability to integrate, deploy, and operate radio access networks using components, subsystems, and software sources from multiple suppliers. The survey was open to employees of communications service providers only.
