Demonstration of dynamic cpu scaling in vRAN network functions for energy efficient operations

The end-to-end setup is a fully operational 5G network. While the RU and mobile core functions are provided by Keysight's world-class simulation and measurement technology, the CU and DU are provided by Radisys. The latter are cloud-native and support dynamic scaling of CPUs used for traffic processing. Moreover, the Radisys vCU and vDU product ships with a closed-loop automatic power manager. It uses the extensive power saving options offered by Intel hardware. The end-to-end setup was successfully implemented and tested in the labs of Europe’s leading Telco Deutsche Telekom based on real traffic profiles.
