Annually, Intel recognizes notable companies in the Intel® Network Builders ecosystem that have delivered outstanding technical innovation in close collaboration with Intel to enable network transformation. I’m very pleased to share that Intel has awarded Radisys a place in its Winners’ Circle as a member of its 2019 Leaders Board. We’ve taken our innovation in open telecom solutions and delivered commercially available solutions for next-gen networks.

Our partnership with Intel has led to innovation in 5G and Open RAN access disaggregation, enabling mobile operators to leverage a multi-vendor ecosystem and accelerate service introduction.

  • Our industry-first 5G Software Suite is pre-validated with Intel’s FlexRAN 5G reference architecture, which is based on both Intel® Xeon® processors and Intel® FPGAs. The 5G Software Suite delivers support for both standalone and non-standalone mode to provide mobile operators with an easy migration path from LTE to 5G deployments.
  • Radisys and Intel – along with China Mobile and AT&T as operator co-chairs – have teamed up to chair the O-RAN Alliance’s Work Group 8 which is defining the 5G NR stack reference architecture, and Radisys is the first to contribute 5G Open Seed Code to the effort.
  • Radisys is working with Intel and China Mobile to demonstrate a 5G NR reference architecture and use cases based on the O-RAN Alliance specification. The solution leverages Radisys’ disaggregated RAN software architecture building blocks for 4G, 5G and IoT along with FlexRAN Layer 1 based on Intel® architecture platforms. By utilizing open RAN architectures in their networks, mobile operators will be able to accelerate their 5G deployments.

We are honored to be named to the Leaders Board of the Intel Network Builders Winners’ Circle program and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with Intel on open network transformation for service providers around the world. The network transformation required to implement 5G is underway, and Radisys is helping accelerate the momentum.
